공중관계 이론 및 방법론을 연구하고 있으며 공중관계 전반의 현안과 이슈에 대한 강의를 하고 있다. 연세대학교 언론홍보영상학부를 졸업하고, 서울대학교 언론정보학과에서 석사, 박사수료를 한 후, University of Oklahoma에서 박사학위를 취득하였다. 고려대학교에 오기 전, Washington State University에서 조교수로 근무하였다.
